What is European Digital Identity?

A technology in which European citizens have control of their data and how this data is used.

How will EUDI Wallet work?

From December 2026each Member State shall make one available free of charge. European Digital Identity Card (EUDI Wallet) to all citizens, thus allowing secure transactions with businesses across the EU.

In addition, innovative and safe companies will have their own e-Wallet business, operated by a QTSP as DigitalSign, for issuing and managing credentials digital customers, employees and suppliers.

Likewise, all e-Wallets follow the same technical standards, ensuring interoperability — import and export of documents and credentials — between organisations and EU countries. They thus become the new European standard for data identification and control.
