We visited Matrixauto to share with you a case study of good use of DigitalSign Biometric Signature.
The Company:
The Auto matrix is the largest megastore automobile in Portugal. With more than 2,000 cars in stock, between seminoves and used certificates and 0km, Matrixauto has 7 stores in Portugal: Porto, Braga, Sintra, Aveiro, Viseu, Leiria and Loures.
The challenge:
As Portugal's largest megastore automobile, the Matrixauto closes thousands of businesses a year. So I needed a quick signature process at the stores, but with the same legal force as a paper signature.
Our Solution:
The biometric signature is made on a tablet developed for this purpose. It collects not only the signature image, but also — and more important — the graphometric function. This function is based on static and dynamic algorithms. The system collects and stores the graphometric data encryptedly in the document itself. Thus, a calligraphy expert can perform an expertise whenever necessary.
Once collected, the graphometric signature is stored securely and encrypted. In the event of doubt, falsification or repudiation, Judicial Police can submit it to graphometric expertise — a team with certified training in this product. The signature thus serves as a support a judicial decision, as with paper signatures today.
The Result:
With the biometric signature of DigitalSign, the contracts were signed on the tablet in seconds. In addition, each signature stores the graphometric data of the trace, which allows further expertise. As a result, Matrixauto has speeded up sales in its seven stores, without giving up security or legal value.
