Cybersecurity
The opening was in charge of Luís Neves, National Director of the Judicial Police, and Carlos Cabreiro, Director of UNC3T, while the closure, in turn, fell to Rear Admiral António Gameiro Marques of the National Security Office — a clear sign, by the way, of the institutional weight of this meeting.
Several speakers also highlighted the central role of the eIDAS Regulation building a secure digital society. In this sense, Nuno Pimpão, Lieutenant Colonel of the National Security Office, addressed the relevance of the regulation; in turn, Fábio Rego, from DigitalSign, showed how the EIDAS It mitigates cyber-risk through the example of electronic billing; and finally, Apostolos Apladas, from the European Commission, presented the case of trusted services to the Commission itself.
On the side of the criminal investigation, on the other hand, Paulo Gonçalves, Chief Inspector of the Judiciary Police, brought a case study on bank phishing. In turn, César Afonso, also from UNC3T, reflected on cybersecurity — that is, from individual behaviors to organizational practices. Ricardo Oliveira, from Eurotux, then analyzed the typology of cybercrime in national critical infrastructures.
In this context, Álvaro Matos, Director General of DigitalSign, addressed the prevention of identity theft in remote identification processes. Two practical cases of weight followed: on the one hand, Pedro Silva explained the management of cyber information in Banco de Portugal; on the other hand, Nuno Goes presented the dematerialization of processes in EDP with legal and computer certainty. From Brazil, finally, Eduardo Magalhães de Lacerda made known the new National Digital Identity Card.
The wrap-up and moderation of the final round table were, in turn, in charge of Joana Mota Agostinho, Data Protection Partner of Cuatrecasas, and Rogério Bravo, Criminal Investigation Coordinator of PJ.
