Learn how the European Commission has bet on the safe digitisation of its internal processes with DigitalSign.
The challenge:
The European Commission wanted to accelerate and digitise identity validation and signature of internal documents. Above all, I needed to do it safely and with full legal value. With thousands of employees, manual processes were slow. It therefore sought a safe scanning solution according to the eIDAS Regulation.
The Solution:
DigitalSign has developed a subscription portal, the EUSign, with the solutions Cert ID and DS SigningDesk. Through it, EC employees use remote qualified signatures to sign contracts and other documents. Identity validation is done by videoconferencing. This way, the whole process runs online without losing security.
The Result:
EC employees now have a remote validation according to eIDAS provided by DigitalSign. Thus, they quickly emit a Qualified Digital Certificate. They are then enabled to sign critical documents on time and anywhere. As a result, the signing cycle has gone from weeks to minutes. In addition, paper consumption fell dramatically.
The document signing cycle has been reduced from weeks to minutes and paper consumption has been drastically reduced.
